The Christmas Cop

Dan is and always has been Mr. Christmas.

I step back and let him take chargeΒ on all the Christmas prep because it really truly means that much to him.

He is so official when it comes to the decor, that I can’t help but pick on him – my Christmas Cop. He has all these rules about how things must be done, where things should go, and how to have red, green and gold sprinkled in every corner of our house for one month.

I kind of love it though. It is an infectious excitement.

And he is good about getting the boys involved with the decorating process!

For this year’s decorating, Cam and I sat back and let the older three run the show.

The boys mostly shuffled candy canes and populated four branches with all of the ornaments.

And Dan went back through and added all the final touches.

Cam was definitely entertained by it all, and especially loved the lights.

And feeling the pines on the tree.

Wrigley is familiar with the rules on taking ornaments off the tree, and playing with the decorations around the house. But this little one is fighting the temptation to turn Dan’s set-up into a Lego play land.

But my thought is, have at it baby – just don’t break anything! What the Christmas Cop doesn’t know, won’t hurt him! πŸ˜‰
